Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

If you are experienced in research, development, testing, and sustainment engineering activities, then we would enjoy having you as an Engineer on our Product Engineering team. As an Engineer II, you'll be responsible for implementing features and solutions in support of analysis and test case development of new products and services. In this role, you will be tasked primarily with developing, running, and analyzing the results of product test automation. You will thrive in this role if you are passionate about verifying the reliability and robustness of products and communication services, interested in the long-term success of your work, and are highly self-reliant.

What You'll Do:

    Perform test framework development, test execution, and analysis activities for the embedded software of Iridium transceivers
  • Work collaboratively with multi-sited global teams of software, hardware, and system development engineers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product testing
  • Provide high-quality system integration, test, and support services
  • Support team members to achieve project delivery milestones
  • Provide analysis, make suggestions, and implement test framework improvements that reduce test cycle time and improve product quality
  • Author technical documentation that clearly presents information
Experience & Education Requirements / EEO

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical or computer engineering or related technical field
  • 2+ years' experience in an engineering role
  • Skilled in software development activities, ideally in Python
  • Possess effective Microsoft Windows and Office skills, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others
  • Have confidence and be able to easily build meaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team
  • Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough to identify and correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed
  • Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • Experience in test automation at multiple levels (e.g., unit, integration, sub-system, and system levels)
  • Experience using Agile methods including Scrum or Kanban
  • Exposure to embedded systems development or testing
  • Knowledge of Linux and/or Unix operating systems
  • Exposure to laboratory test equipment (network analyzers, state machine driven traffic simulators, protocol analyzers, etc.)
  • Experience with software management tools (JIRA, Git, GitLab)

We'll also need you to:

  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% annually
  • US Citizenship is required

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For in person meetings, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
