IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team!We are currently seeking a Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer in our Northern Virginia region. The Civil Engineering Graduate - Designer is an entry level position that assists Senior Project Engineers or Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

• Assists in preparation, completion and submission of drawings to the appropriate jurisdictions.

• General knowledge of the design process regarding residential and/or commercial projects. This may include site constraints, layout, grading, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, watermain, erosion and sedimentation controls, landscaping, stormwater management and best management practices.

• Assists in preparation of residential and commercial final construction plans.

• Uses sound engineering/design procedures.

• Works efficiently to produce a quality product.

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings;

• Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction;

• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3Dsoftware;

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

Education and experience requirements are:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering;

• Must have passed the fundamental portion of professional engineering licensing exam or be actively pursuing a passing score.

• Prior direct experience is preferred but no prior direct experience is required for an entry level position. However, a working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible is preferred.
