Job DescriptionCompany Description
The CNC Vertical Mill Machinist will:
- Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical milling machines to produce precision parts from carbon steels, aluminum, stainless steels, hi-temp alloys, and other materials
- Must possess a working knowledge of advanced machining principles, modern tooling, metal properties, tooling feeds and speeds and applications
- Must have or be willing to invest in your own basic inspection equipment
- Must be willing to cross train to use 3 axis and 5 axis milling machines
Job Requirements:
- Must be dependable and willing to work overtime when required
- Must wear proper PPE (safety glasses and safety shoes)
- Follow Mainstream's Primary Operating Procedures
- Ability to use basic inspection equipment (micrometer, calipers, indicators, tape measure, etc)
- Use material handling equipment such as forklift, vacuum lift, cranes, slings, and / or magnets
- Ability to interpret blue prints and GD & T
- Perform "in process" inspections of parts
- Maintain traceability of heat, lot, and raw material purchase order numbers for traceability throughout production process
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Update machine maintenance ledger throughout every shift with appropriate data
- Complete routine production paperwork
- Knowledge of Mainstream QMS and how to contribute to it
- FOD awareness and prevention
- Counterfeit parts awareness
- Other duties assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more previous years of machining experience
- Previous CAD / CAM experience
- Previous experience with modern tooling (hi-feed inserts, drills, end mills, thru tool coolant)
- Previous experience with Hurco brand machines
- Previous 3 and 5 axis mill experience
