Survey Technician- Summer Intern

Scope

Provides surveying assistance under leadership from any Senior Survey Technician or Land Surveyor and is responsible for calculations and surveying judgment that is based on prior surveying experience, documented practices, systems or examples which will be reviewed by a more Senior Surveyor or Land Surveyor.

Principal Responsibilities

• Operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment.
• Perform field work for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topography surveys and performing routine survey/engineering computations for various project types.
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders.
• Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers.
• Operate a company vehicle.
• Observe safety and security procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic knowledge of survey principles and survey computations covering both plane and spherical geometry.
• Problem solving techniques.
• Possesses basic oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to professionally represent IMEG.
• Travel may be required.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minor in Land Surveying or Associates Degree in Land Surveying preferred.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier.
• Not eligible for sponsorship
