About this job

At OhioHealth Grant Family Medicine Residency in Columbus, Ohio, our work is inspired by the community we serve.  As our current APD transitions to an associate dean role with our affiliated medical school, we are seeking a full-time MD/DO faculty member to join us. We are a community-based family medicine residency providing experience in a large, urban family medicine center and co-located hospital with access to extensive specialty care and resources provided by our sponsoring institution. We are a 10-10-10 ACGME approved, clinically focused program prioritizing continuity, full spectrum training, team-based care, and health equity.

OhioHealth Grant Family Medicine is seeking a physician who is passionate about teaching Family Medicine and will join our dedicated staff with positivity and a plan for further developing our team. Our new Family Medicine Center, with interdisciplinary staff and a walk-in care center, opened in 2017, and provides care for many vulnerable populations in downtown Columbus and the surrounding neighborhoods, engaging patients as partners in their care and working to close health equity gaps.  Our faculty and residents are fully integrated into the structure and leadership of our downtown, 645-bed medical center, serving on valuable inpatient services and multidisciplinary committees.  We offer the residents and our faculty opportunities to focus on individualized interests through our Area of Concentration programs, while also supporting all our physicians to practice full spectrum family medicine that is necessary for the community we serve.  Our program has both a proud history and exciting ideas for further innovation.

We are considering candidates for both the Associate Program Director role and/or a core faculty position.  Core faculty titles (assistant vs associate) are based on experience and organizational role.

Desired (but not required) experiences for the APD role          include: 5 years experience within Medical Education; desire to continue obstetric care; osteopathic manipulation skills and/or understanding/experience with osteopathic recognition

Desired (but not required) experience for a faculty position include: osteopathic training and/or familiarity with osteopathic recognition; desire to continue obstetric care; private practice or medical education experience

Our program is located in downtown Columbus, Ohio, the 15th largest city in the nation.  With a business and residential metropolitan area of 1.7 million, Columbus has a vigorous, growing economy. Competitive public and private school systems, top cultural amenities, and widespread recreational resources complement the city.  There are affiliations with The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and The Ohio State University College of Medicine and several other schools have rotations and partnership within our system.  A network of additional OhioHealth Family Medicine residencies provides for excellent collaboration and support.

Enjoy the stability of employment along with highly competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance and student loan reimbursement.
