JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Store Manager SALARY OR WAGE RANGE: DOE FLSA: Salaried UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: indoor / outdoor Non-operating hours MANAGEMENT APPROVAL: DATE: August 2023 A. PURPOSE OF JOB Store Managers are responsible for the complete day-to-day operation of the store. They are responsible for maximizing store sales and profitability, along with managing expenses while ensuring that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised and that all customers are provided with excellent customer service. A Store Manager is solely responsible for the growth and development of the management team and store associates. B. JOB DUTIES • Accountable for all loss prevention and security measures. • Accountable to ensure all controllable expenses are within budget range and lead to profitability • Accountable for the continuity of all relevant company communication, as applicable o Communications board o Email o Meetings o Deputy Dashboard • Collaborates with AGM to finalize acceptable store supply levels • Conducts and directs the business at a high level through observations and delegation and both informal and formal store walks. • Conducts weekly manager meeting with ASM and Department Supervisors to discuss financials, operations, human capital and inventory management. • Understands and drives 7 Day Inventory Workflow standards through Inventory Manager and ASM. • Develop operational strategies to close business gaps and increase profitability by scrutinizing current operations. • Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient by driving staffing levels and staff competencies. • Ensures the store is clean, in-stocked and recovered at ALL times. • Evaluate competitor stores in merchandise, display and pricing with the intention to scrutinize our own. • Maintains a work balance of 30% office and 70% floor. • Meets bi-weekly with DO to discuss, financials, operations, human capital and facilities needs and develop action plans. • Provides guidance, mentorship and leadership to ASM for all aspects of inventory management. • Responsible for a thorough understanding, execution and implementation of AWOR best practices. • Responsible for B2B culture development within the store and farming outside the store. • Responsible for executing employee engagement programs and relations • Responsible for financial and inventory data analysis using all applicable technology to affect the bottom and top lines of the business. • Responsible for human resource compliance • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and upkeep of all store systems, devices and applications – use ticket system for issues not resolved in reasonable time frame. o Responsible for coaching and training a backup to perform the above tasks (ASM) • Schedules staff to provide optimal service to meet operational and financial goals. • Solely responsible for the entire employee growth development lifecycle o All onboarding and ongoing phases of training o Quarterly/yearly employee reviews o Hiring and terminating o Assessments o Coaching and Progressive Counseling o Identify talent in store o Outside recruiting • Works in conjunction with DO to address any store maintenance items. o Call and schedule repair services as needed o Ensure the routine maintenance checklists are followed and coordinate services as needed C. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • College degree or equivalent years of experience • Minimum of 5 years retail experience required • Previously in Store Manager position, ASM or growth development candidate for Store Manager role. D. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS • Aware of retail product and merchandising trends • Demonstrates “Captain of the ship” mentality • Demonstrates situational awareness • Effective communicate with a varied audience with clear and concise directives • Excellent leadership, negotiating, planning and organization skills • Exemplifies professional presence in appearance and demeanor • Financial and budget understanding and knowledge • Tech proficient E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Climb stairs and ladders using proper safety measures • Lifting up to 80 lbs. • Minimum Full-time hours work week plus additional hours during peak seasons or as business necessitates. • Business needs may dictate a 6 day work week some weeks. • Standing for lengthy periods (up to 10 hours or more) F. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for all employees in the store.
