Frederick Derr & Company, Inc. is seeking a Pipe Supervisor to supervise and coordinate the activities of pipe crew engaged in construction of water/sewer projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
• Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
• Estimate material and staffing requirements to complete jobs.
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the activities of staff to ensure safety, quality and productivity.
• Coordinate work activities with other construction project requirements.
• Order materials or supplies.
• Locate, measure and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment using measuring and marking equipment.
• Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data.
• Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
• Implement and enforce safety requirements.

Requirements include:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a pipe crew.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to implement and enforce safety standards.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
