A hotel's cleanliness is one of the main things that brings guests back to the property and has them recommending our facility to friends and family. Housekeepers have one of the most important roles on the premises. That's why we are looking for individuals with great attention to detail to join our housekeeping team!
A housekeeper’s responsibilities include cleaning rooms to meet the Tides by the Sea's high standards. They must also possess excellent time-management skills, the ability to collaborate within a team environment, and motivate others to achieve team goals and demonstrate personal accountability.
The Responsibilities of the Position:
- Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
- Work within a team to accomplish goal of resort/hotel cleanliness
- Complete daily assignments in a timely manner
- Hold self and teammates accountable for the highest quality standards
- Report maintenance needs to housekeeping supervisor and/or managers
- Follow all safety protocols when using/handling cleaning chemicals
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (Specific standards will be outlined at orientation.)
The Skills and Experience Needed:
- Must have at least 1 year cleaning experience
- Minimum high school education
- Engaging and caring personality
- Highly experienced working with computers, email and hotel reservations software
- Time management skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve team and individual goals
- Ability to work on feet for an extended period
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
The Physical Demands of the Position:
- Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, crawl, reach and retrieve items from overhead
- Ability to observe and report unsafe conditions and foul odors
- Stand on a regular basis throughout the shift
- Position and navigate carts weighing up to 50 lbs in tight spaces
- Operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
- Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations
- Lift, carry and position loads of at least 25 lbs

- Is able to communicate effectively with others
- Is able to work under time constraints
- Is flexible and able to handle interruptions
- Is committed to providing a memorable guest experience
- Brings a positive outlook and team orientation to work
- Ability to stay in task until jobs are completed
