Fire Alarm Designer

Position Overview

Position will support the needs of D&H Fire Protection, Inc., its sales people and its project managers in drafting code complaint system drawings along with the filing of submittals to local fire departments and city agencies. Individual must have good working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 101/CA Building Codes, AutoCAD (or equivalent) and secondarily NFPA 2001 and NFPA 12.

Role and Responsibilities

• Collecting source drawings and data sheets applicable to project requirements
• Site survey to collect relevant information to put together an adequate design when source drawings are not available
• Putting together project drawings and submittal books
• Submitting drawings through jurisdictional portals such as FIMS, Epic LA, Riv Co PLUS Online, etc.
• Timely response to internal and external emails and communications
• Assist in managing database of project drawings, closeout documents and As-Builts

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma
• AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred
• NICET level II or higher in Fire Alarm or Special Hazards is preferred

Preferred Skills & Work Experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD (or equivalent) and Bluebeam
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem- solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Proficient in MS Office & Google Suite
