Job Description
Purpose
Diesel Technicians/ Mechanics are accountable to maintain company equipment in accordance with company standards while maximizing utilization and uptime with a focus on company cost objectives. Technician B’s targeted productivity goal is 96% or above completions, within or under standard repair time, with rework at 3% or lower.
Accountabilities
- Capable of performing most major repairs with minimal guidance or supervision.
- Repair equipment in the most effective manner with a focus on quality and cost control.
- Assist in performing effective diagnostic routines that identify the root causes and determine the best repair method.
- Provide mentoring and training to less experienced technicians.
- Conduct all repairs in a manner that emphasizes personal and coworker safety.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Demonstrates personal concern for maintaining a safe environment for themselves and others.
- Actively promotes the proper use of equipment and adherence to processes.
- Build trust by being upfront about what they can or can't do.

Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in Class 8 maintenance and repair.
Knowledge, Skills, Traits
- Experience with computer-based maintenance systems.
- Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience.
- Ability to work in a team environment to continuously improve results.
- Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED.

Experience level:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Diesel Truck Technician /Mechanic in a Fleet Maintenance Shop is required
- Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Required)
- Trailer repair: 1 year (Required)
