The company:

Verisign operates the Domain Name System (DNS) root and powers the hugely-significant .COM domain enabling the world's 5 billion Internet users to connect online with reliability and confidence, anytime, anywhere.   • have the opportunity to be involved in many phases of software development, systems engineering, architecture, information security, systems and network administration;
  • attend daily stand-up meetings and collaborate cross-functionally with team members at many levels from Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Security, Customer Service, and other organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science or Engineering major who is a rising junior or senior at the undergraduate level, or graduate level
  • An interest in the practice of software development, systems engineering, architecture, information security, systems or network administration
  • The ability to express your thoughts clearly and concisely both written and verbally

  • Interested in new technologies with the aptitude to pick them up quickly
  • Academic or professional experience with programming languages such as Java or C/C++ and scripting languages such as Ruby or Python
  • Familiarity with Linux/UNIX and the ability to get around using the command-line
  • Networking roles would require familiarity with basic concepts, protocols and/or simple troubleshooting
  • Available to work full-time for a minimum of ten weeks and be based in the Washington, DC metro area during the summer of 2024

What's great about interning here:

  • attend technical talks and speakers' series about Verisign's business, technology, and industry
  • attend small talks with senior level company executives
  • gain experience in presenting the outcomes of your work to a broad audience
  • attend career development workshops
  • guaranteed interviews for future Verisign opportunities
