A.	PURPOSE OF JOB

The Department Supervisor directly accountable to assigned department(s) and their presentation, cleanliness revenue targets. Furthermore, responsible for leading the execution of all daily operational responsibilities by directly contributing, providing direction, guidance and accountability, daily.  Consistently drives overall store sales and store standards using the big 3 and employee engagement.

B.	 JOB DUTIES 
•	Accountable for upholding LP measures / protecting company assets.
•	Assist in the management of controllable expenses to ensure profitably. 
•	Provides daily leadership to employees in the store by determining knowledge gaps and bridging such gaps.
•	Works on behalf of the team as needed (Cashier, sales associate and merchandise associate)
•	Understands / is S.M.E and directs all roles and behaviors of subordinate positions.
•	Collaborates and executes regularly with the ASM / SM on operational performance indicators and inventory opportunities.
•	Enforces safety policies and procedures; is a safety role model.
•	Ensures pricing integrity is in place and up to standard per product – works with Inventory Manager to ensure price changes are completed by department or merchandising class.
•	Ensure store signage is accurate, up to date and in good repair - replace / upkeep as needed.
•	Works with Inventory Manager to ensure that all daily inventory management tasks are completed by deadlines.
•	Ensure that open/close and cleaning procedures are followed, daily, using associated checklists.
•	Ensure weekly and monthly housekeeping standards are met – deep cleaning and deep recovery.
•	Ensures associates are informed of all promotions, events and other necessary job information.
•	Ensures task execution and is responsible for a prioritized delegation of the daily workload among associates by working with ASM and SM to determine additional / unique needs by day.
•	Ensures the promotion of Ace Rewards on the sales floor by the associates and at the register by Cashiers.
•	Ensures the staff is trained, motivated, presentable and punctual. 
•	Maintains the store in accordance with company standards – THE BIG 3.
•	Other duties as assigned by the D.O., Store Manager and/or ASM.
•	Provides critical feedback and coaching to direct reports, as needed.
•	Provides direction and guidance to all staff outside of designated department(s) when needed, as needed.
•	Resolves customer complaints as needed using L.A.S.T.
•	Responsible for ensuring new hires are mentored and trained on store policy and procedures.      
•	Responsible for ensuring associates’ proficiency in all store technology platforms (POS, Eagle basics, handheld basics, AceNet, ALP, AOS, Retailer app, repair storm, paint software, Deputy, Nextcloud.
•	Responsible for ensuring associates are knowledgeable of product lines.  Can demonstrate and describe to customers how a product fits their needs and wants (Grills, Stihl, Plants and all other specialty departments / programs need to be exposed to each person in the store to ensure they can at least help a customer in those areas).
•	Responsible for ensuring the store is recovered and ready for business every day.
•	Responsible for ensuring the execution of all in-store workflow process and promotions.
•	Responsible for their own knowledge and ability to execute store services provided and the ability to execute them (paint, keys, auto keys, small engine service, screens, etc.)
•	Works with senior leadership to identify root cause IRAs and execute solutions.

C.	MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•	3 department badges required to be earned on ALP within 6 months of hire or promotion.
•	Ability and willingness to work flexible or non-operating hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.  
•	Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high attention to detail.      
•	Demonstrates ability to lead and develop others in a consistent and professional manner.
•	Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred. 
•	Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
•	Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years retail operations experience.      
•	Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel required.
•	Possesses and/or willingness to possess a vast product knowledge. 
•	Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership and analytical skills.
•	Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
D.	KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
•	Awareness and ability to improve department product levels, merchandise standards, promotional campaigns and product trends.
•	Demonstrates comfort in regard to delegating and directing.
•	Exhibits professionalism in appearance and demeanor
•	Tech savvy.
•	Efficient planning and organization skills
•	Positive attitude required.
•	Effective verbal and written communication skills.
•	Strong team working skills with the ability to lead up to 20 employees.

E.	PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•	Climb stairs and ladders using proper safety measures.
•	Lifting 50 to 80lbs as needed. 
•	Standing for long periods of time up to 10 hours per day.
•	Up to 40 hour work week.

F.	SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
•	Acts as manager on duty.
