Industrial Gas Filtration and Generation Division, Parker Hannifin Corp, specializes in the design, manufacture and distribution of compressed air & gas treatment, on-site gas generation systems and clean air solutions.

Responsible for field applications, system design knowledge, solution recommendation, product quotation, and customer product development/enhancement. Provides sales, marketing, and design direction in support of the Division's growth initiative. May also manage specific Division key accounts. Responsible for the technical application and specification of industrial filtration equipment including dust and mist collection equipment. Provides technical assistance and data to Parker sales representatives and customers across broad range of industry and applications. Prepares specifications, product standards and other activities requiring knowledge of product design, air system design, engineering principals, and application expertise. Relied upon as internal experts for applicable regulatory standards that influence product selection and application.

Position responsible for driving the strategic growth segments of the Division through product application, system solution, product development inclusion, competitive and market trends and exploring market opportunities. Must effectively interface with all Division departments and Division staff. Works with minimal daily supervision but keeps team leaders and staff informed of project status.

  1. Manages technical and application support to customers for industrial filtration applications and product solutions including mechanical plan and specification solutions.
  2. Responsible to maintain set margin levels and sales targets for quoted products and solutions.
  3. Provide technical expertise on product and/or solution to close on final sale. Required to research, propose, and source items that are needed for solutions but are not maintained as a standard product.
  4. Create and maintain product quotation(s) and related specifications, terms, and conditions and provide support for product and quotation tools including product information for web page, quotation tool, price books, user instruction manuals, and related sales materials.
  5. Works closely with product management to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and operating profit objectives.
  6. Responsible for the specification and product standards necessary to meet industry regulations and requirements including but not limited to OSHA, ASHRAE, NFPA, EPA and NIOSH.
  7. Participate in the process of engineering modifications and changes to ensure the performance and integrity of product design. Works closely with new product development and sustained engineering groups to create proper lab and field test studies to validate product performance and test results.
  8. Communicate industry trends, regulatory changes, competitive actions, competitive position, and updates as it relates to the products or complementary products.
  9. Participate in key product development programs relative to the existing and future Parker IOU industrial filtration equipment product lines. Participates in the development of OEM accounts and supports their needs. Identifies opportunities and applications for served market expansion.
  10. Prepare reports as required including but not limited to monthly product and system quotation, trends.
  11. Coordinates training programs and works to ensure the successful communication of expertise to industry distribution partners, technical and regional Parker sales managers, customers, etc.
  12. Creates and publishes technical papers and case studies that illustrate and demonstrate market leadership with our industrial filtration product offering.
  13. Effectively communicates through active listening; acting on input; sharing information in an open, timely manner and encouraging others to do the same. Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
  14. Participate in local /regional seminars, industry organizations and tradeshows as required.
  15. Support field sales and distributors as required to maintain Division's premier customer service position.
  16. Provide timely reports summarizing findings on a given product, project, or territory.
  17. Must maintain highest degree of customer service, throughput, and quality and participate in division lean activities.
  • 5 or more years technical application experience required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a mechanical or electrical technical or engineering discipline.
  • 3 - 5 yrs. Industrial filtration solution design, product and filtration media application experience preferred.
  • Able to read and comprehend product and mechanical engineering design drawings to determine appropriate application and related product recommendation and system solution.
  • Understanding of financial statements and analysis.
  • Excellent mechanical comprehensions with the ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature.
  • Solid understanding of industrial ventilation principles including duct and hood design. Prior Industrial Ventilation Conference (IVC) certification for Introductory Ventilation System Design a plus.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present to large groups.
  • Ability to define and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply effective sales techniques.
  • Comprehend key indicators for area of responsibility:
    • Product design / technical application
    • Generation of technical specifications / standards
    • Define and solve complex product applications
    • High level technical communication
    • Training and education of distribution, industry & personnel
    • Team player / works well with others
  • Good understanding of PCs and relevant software packages required
    • (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, Teams). CAD experience is a plus.
  • Comprehends the integration of planning, accuracy, time management, and communication to achieve desired results.
  • Travel up to 10 - 20% for onsite application evaluation, system commission, or product troubleshooting.
