About this job

The Instrument Maintenance Repair Technician will engage in facilities equipment maintenance to ensure continuous operation of building and powerhouse equipment including troubleshooting, regular preventive maintenance plan execution and equipment modification. This position will be involved with basic and advanced electrical work as needed and as qualified.   

          Roles and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot all electronic/electrical equipment.
  • Perform calibrations of facility systems equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining operational status of all facilities PLC equipment.
    • VFD Drives
    • Large Control Systems
    • Including PLC processors, IO, and networked BMS/EMS systems.
    • Responsible for performing maintenance tasks of all facilities PLC equipment.
    • Including calibration of:
      • HVAC VAV controllers
      • Damper controls
      • Dew Point/Humidity Sensors
      • VFD Drives
  • Ensure safe work practices and policies are followed
  • Participate in and lead maintenance activities around facilities controls
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed
  • Accurately document work activities on applicable work orders
  • Ability to trend, collect and analyze facilities equipment performance data
  • Assist in training maintenance personnel of lower skill as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of company information (including but not limited to drawings, schematics, process information, and recipes).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and controls schematics
  • May be exposed to cleanroom environment, dust, solvents, welding, mixing, noise, high temperature, low humidity, air-conditioned environment, CT Scan, X-Ray, and high-security areas

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • S. Department of Labor Journeyman or 10 years or more verifiable industrial electrical maintenance experience
  • Availability to work any shift
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of a maintenance position
  • Strong and verifiable medium voltage electrical equipment background
  • Strong and verifiable instrumentation background

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous powerhouse or substation experience strongly preferred
  • Previous chiller, VFD and compressor experience strongly preferred
  • Strong experience with Allen Bradley PLC systems and Niagra Frameworks.
