Outside Technical Salesperson

Since 1981, family owned and operated Ohio Valley Industrial Services has been servicing Research and Power Generation with a variety of products. This ranges from instrumentation, steam and process system components, and removable insulation covers.

Ohio Valley Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Outside Technical Salesperson to join our team. This position will utilize your selling ability and mechanical aptitude to sell to new and existing customers along with increasing our market share with our distribution lines. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

An excellent candidate would be a person that is willing to learn the product line and applications. The candidate would also have an eye for detail, work well both independently and in a team environment.

Duties to include but not limited to:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, networking, and cold calling.

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication and visits.

• Provide technical support and assistance to customers regarding our full product line.

• Visit customer sites to provide solutions and support for our products.

• Job sites consist of general industrial environments and commercial locations.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of products and services.

• Manage and update customer accounts, sales pipelines, and other sales-related data.

• Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotes to potential customers.

• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with customers.

Qualifications:

• Background in business, engineering, and/or sales preferred.

• 3-5 years of outside sales experience preferred.

• Ability to develop and deliver solutions based on customer needs and product offerings.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to travel within assigned territory with reliable transportation.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to travel.

• Ability to stand, climb and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds plus.
