Job Description

Primary Function:
The Fuel & Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton’s Aerospace Group, has an opening for a test setup engineer. The position is based in Jackson, MS.

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The test setup engineer supports the manufacturing and operation processes responsible for producing Aerospace quality products including hydraulic pumps, motors, motorpumps, and reservoirs. The test setup engineer is responsible for performs engineering and manufacturing assignments focusing on process improvements related to assembly and testing. This is an entry level position designed to focus on those interested in pursuing technical associates for bachelor’s degrees and those with less than 1 year of continuous work experience to gain the knowledge and problem-solving skills necessary to prepare successful individuals to take on roles of increasing responsibility within the organization.

Essential Functions:
The successful candidate will be able to do the following:
• Read and understand hydraulic schematics
• Assemble together hydraulic components such as hoses, fittings, check valves, filter blows, accumulators, etc…
• Evaluate the condition of hydraulic components and make use or replacement decisions
• Organize and maintain accurate test setups across product lines
• Collaborate with hourly test technicians, team leaders, and manufacturing engineers to define proper and safe test setups
• Update process plans with test setup parts lists, test setup pictures, and test setup instructions
• Generate and place orders for tooling and test setup components
• Maintain oil storage for use in the test stands
• Supports Eaton continuous improvement initiatives such as Rapid Improvement Events, Standard Work Events, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S+

• Conduct time studies to establish or verify standards for test setups
