JOB TITLE: Bartender

JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for an energetic person who would love to support the food and beverage department. We are looking to bring on someone who shares our passion for hospitality and creating exceptional and memorable experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and beverage, a pro-active attitude, and provide exceptional service to our guests. The Bartender assists in creating cocktails and delivering items to our customers and guests in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic, and professional manner. In addition, shares our passion for hospitality and creating exceptional and memorable experiences. Highly motivated and effective at working in a fast-paced team environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Greet/and all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Mix and garnish beverages according to recipe and portion control standards.
  • Present and serve beverages to guests.
  • Check guests for proper identification and serve alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with federal, state, local and company laws and regulations.
  • May assist in delivering food, beverage, and other amenities to guests in a timely manner using cart or walking with a tray.
  • Sets up food trays with proper settings and condiments and ensures order is complete before leaving the kitchen.
  • Describes all menu items, methods of preparation and prices as needed. Maintains knowledge of all menu items. Up sells food and beverage items to maximize profitability.
  • Processes guest payment transactions accurately and closes out purchases. Balances cash bank and all payment methods with accuracy to sales report. Turns in all tickets, credit card vouchers and monies collected throughout the shift.
  • Follows all standard food handling, sanitation, TIPS, and health department guidelines.
  • Stock and maintain the bar to include, but not limited to, beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce.
  • Cut, store, and ensure product quality of all beverage-related perishables.
  • Notifies management of any problems resulting from guest complaints, incidents, or disruptive behavior
  • Pick up trays according to department specifications within the assigned areas. Completes all assigned cleaning duties, keeps all storage areas clean and organized. Assist in the cleaning and organization of the service workstations.
  • Completes side work before, during and after shift.
  • Provide guests with high-level customer service experience, while maintaining a professional distance and staying alert to their needs.
  • Notifies management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of any equipment and any accidents.
  • Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.
  • Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or other matters.
  • Notify supervisor of supplies that are needed.
  • Ensure the environment (i.e., lighting, music, settings, etc.) are appropriate to a successful meal.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION LEVEL: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Must have a valid Food Handlers Certificate and Responsible Beverage Server Certificate. Must have a minimum of two years proven bartending experience in a high-volume hospitality, luxury setting preferred.
