Academic Tutor - Part-time

The Opportunity

Learning Ascent is dedicated to delivering high quality tutoring and test preparation to families in the Fox Valley. We are looking for talented middle and high school level tutors with the desire to make a positive impact on learning.

Our tutors design their own availability and work in our center located in St. Charles. Most tutoring is one on one. 

We support the families' individual district's grade level curriculum and promote enrichments along with enhanced curriculum options. 

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of direct teaching/tutoring experience
• College degree
• Ability to conceptualize and teach concepts clearly with some great success stories
• Create individualized learning activities that align with each student's learning style
• Create a positive, respectful, nurturing environment while building confidence
• Creative, driven, and endless energy to bring out the best in a student
• Patient, passionate, versatile, and dedicated to helping kids excel
• Communicate all assessments, learning targets and goals to parents
• Spend some time outside of direct sessions preparing and working on a student's learning plan
