Security Technician

Egan Company is seeking Security Technicians for customer opportunities around the Greater Twin Cities area. This is a union position with top-rate wages, healthcare, retirement and vacation benefits. We are looking for independent, customer-service-oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards.

The basic responsibilities of the Security Technician include but are not limited to the following:

• Installation, service, or repair of specified Access, Security, and CCTV systems and peripheral devices

• Programming various security systems - Lenel, S2, Sielox, Bosch experience is a plus

• Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installation

• Overcome challenges on retrofits and new installations

• Train and instruct new users on a life safety equipment

• Daily communication with the Project Manager

• Completion of daily safety and additional documents

• High school diploma or GED required

• Experience installing and programming Fire Alarm Systems

• Valid MN Power Limited Technician license.

• NICET Certification is preferred (we can assist you in attaining this certification)

• Knowledge of current codes when applicable

• Valid driver's license - travel between jobsites is required

• 3-year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry

• Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW

• Overtime may be required depending on the workload

• Ability to read and mark up prints

• Ability to lead and direct a team

• Effective interpersonal and customer service skills

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)

• Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights

• Highly motivated and ability to multi-task

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision

• Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner
