Litigation Associate Attorney

Wilson Elser is looking for a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a team of exceptional professionals in a collaborative environment to represent sophisticated clients confronted with complex legal challenges.

This is a remote position based in West Virginia, reporting to our firm's McLean, VA office.

The Position

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in the state of West Virginia, VA or MD licenses a plus
• 2+ years of defense litigation experience
• Experience handling general liability, trucking, transportation, employment, and insurance defense
• Superior communication, writing, and research skills
• Experience handling discovery and motions
• Experience handling court appearances and depositions
• Trial experience a plus
• Legal project management experience is helpful

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, working cases from beginning to end
• Represent clients in a wide range of civil defense litigation claims
• Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects
• Regularly handle court appearances and conduct depositions
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports
• Make in-person appearances in West Virginia when required
