DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

Plan, setup, and manage audio/visual aspects of Daytona Intl. Speedway related events. This includes large spectator events and track and client meeting room rentals. Specifically, thisposition involves implementing, maintaining, servicing, monitoring, and repairing public address,intercom, specialty sound systems and audio-visual systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Setup/install equipment such as microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, videomonitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events andfunctions.
  • Work closely with the Venue Technology Manager, DIS Operations, Venue Operations and Sales teamson upcoming events. Act as an integral part in the production team of racing events at DIS.
  • Plan, install, maintain & repair public address/intercom, specialty sound systems, and othersystem related components/equipment.
  • Create system documentation, block diagrams and schematics of existing and futureprojects.
  • Program audio DSPs, amplifiers, I/O devices and control units.
  • Performs system level diagnostics and preventative maintenance to ensure publicaddress/intercom, specialty sound systems and other system related components/equipment areoperational.
  • Skilled in the use of tools and equipment employed in testing and repairing ofequipment.
  • Provide necessary surveying of facilities and make recommendations for the layout and locationof system, components, equipment, cabling, and wiring.
  • Provide technical support to radio broadcast, TV broadcast, and cable TV (video) duringevents.
  • Respond to questions and needs of end-users concerning supported systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Other duties as assigned.

DIRECTION EXERCISED: Provide supervision of seasonal employees and/or vendors during events inaccordance with the policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting and trainingemployees in accordance with Venue Technology Department guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: One year certificate from a college or technical school; or twoyears related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencepreferred. Must have two years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits.Dante Level 2 Certification and experience with Crown/Harmon Audio Architect systems alsopreferred.

PROFESSIONAL: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professionaljournals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability

to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


PERSONAL: Project a positive image to internal (employees) and external (fans, vendor, othersports professional, community members) customers, communicate effectively and professionally atall times, comfort and experience with public speaking, exercise excellent managerial judgment,
ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, team worker. Dependable transportation to andfrom work is required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, andproportions to practical situation. Ability to use Ohm's law to solve necessary PA systemcalculations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required touse hands to adjust, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequentlyrequired to stand, sit, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/ormove up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/ormove up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

weather conditions, extreme heat and risk of electric shock. There are times when the employee isexpected to perform duties in adverse weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment
is usually loud but can be very loud at times.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED/NEEDED:

  • Basic office systems including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone.
  • Alltypes of microphones (wired, and wireless)
  • Live sound public address systems (mixing consoles, amplifiers, and speakers) Digital Audio Matrixoperation
  • Network Audio programming
  • Laptop to LCD projector interfacing (Standard VGA/DVI/HDMI/SDI conversion)
  • Network/Internet based teleconferencing setup and operation with professional audio and videoequipment.
  • Operate forklifts, boom lifts, or scissor lifts preferred.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Hours will vary but will include all hours the office is open, evenings, weekends and holidays asnecessary to attend events and to fulfill job responsibilities.
