Howmet is currently seeking an Internal Audit Specialist/Audit Team Lead to join the Internal Audit team in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a unique opportunity to be both a Team Lead and Internal Auditor; leading audits by managing project plans and resources to ensure successful audit completion and regularly supporting efforts on other audits as assigned. This role will report to the Internal Audit Director, North America and Global SOX.
Internal Audit at Howmet is a well-respected organization that is relied upon to evaluate financial and operational controls and to provide improvement recommendations. As an internal auditor, you will have exposure to key functions and leaders in Corporate and Business Segment operations. Your audit experience will help differentiate you as you pursue other roles during your career with the Company.
Major Activities/Key Challenges:
* Working on audit projects as either an audit lead or internal auditor and interacting with personnel throughout the company to evaluate and test internal controls of business processes
* Providing recommendations to location and senior management which improve processes and internal controls
* Utilizing tools for data analysis to identify areas of risk and focus during pre-audit planning and audit execution
* Building skills and knowledge of company requirements to effectively discuss key audit issues with management
* Assisting external auditors with SOX-related audit testing and physical inventory observations
* Participating in a cross-functional team (Process Team, Data Analytics Team, or Risk Team), working collaboratively to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of audits
* Traveling to company locations throughout North America (travel is scheduled in advance and approximates 25%-30% in January through November)
* During non-travel weeks, working in a hybrid environment (mix of in-office and work-from-home)
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
* Well-developed interpersonal skills, capable of building trusting relationships cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority
* Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner with all levels of the organization as well as with external stakeholders
* Strong organization and project management skills, capable of managing time, multiple priorities, and complex issues efficiently
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration from an accredited Institution
* Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on internal auditing, public accounting or compliance
* Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Professional Certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.)
* Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
* Experience with Hyperion, Smart View/Essbase, VBA, Data Analytics, Oracle, SAP, or Power BI
* Experience leading audit teams or projects
* Working knowledge of various business functions such as: revenue, inventory, procurement, or financial/month-end close processes
Salary range: $95K - 110K/year approximation (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
