Position Summary

Responsibilities include all aspects of the clinical administrative operations from scheduling appointments, validating insurance and payment authorization, inputting claims, and responding to telephone inquiries. Responsible for all aspects of patient appointment scheduling, insurance verification, creation of new patient charts and maintenance of patient records, scanning and filing patient documents, ensuring complete and accurate information, timely completion of all assigned tasks. Demonstrates knowledge of medical billing terminology and healthcare billing regulations. Ensure billing for all services provided is accurate, timely and fully documented. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and established Company policies and compliance programs.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Validating patient insurance and payment authorization
  • Scheduling patient appointments
  • Accurate and timely inputting of claims
  • Managing individual’s work in process
  • Responding to telephone inquiries
  • Creation of new patient charts and maintenance of patient records
  • Managing incoming phone calls
  • Provide a high level of customer service to patients, fellow employees and referral sources.

Position Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private medical billing
  • 5 years insurance billing experience in the medical field and knowledge of medical billing terminology
  • Excellent phone and customer relations skills
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and other medical insurance regulations and terminology for private payer, state and federal plans including coding, billing and reimbursement protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral (including telephone) and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient computer skills including Windows based office technologies, email, and automated systems
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Strong team orientation
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others in getting a job done
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and persistent in getting jobs done on time
  • Ability to make constructive suggestions
  • Willingness to assume responsibility and assist with tasks that seem outside of employee’s defined scope of work
