Direct Care Position $500 signing bonus after 6 months on job

The Child Care Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide support and care for the children living in the home and to maintain a safe environment, assist the children by helping manage communication related to daily interactions; including but not limited to education, connections with outside agencies, maintain the health and safety of each child, and facilitate recreation and social life skills.  The employee will manage daily school homework and tutoring, meal preparation, and assistance with transporting children to and from appointments.  This position requires a committed, energetic individual to be an empathetic listener, project a caring attitude, represent yourself as a positive role model and have a strong desire to help guide and foster youth so they may experience a normal, loving, supportive living environment.  

The employee can eat their meals in the home with the children, so food is provided, and any transport using your own vehicle is reimbursed.  We pay overtime if needed and time and a half for certain holidays.  

This job is great for an energetic person who loves working with teenage males who attend public school and love to do activities outside and in the community.  Providing our kids with support and enthusiasm makes for an easy and rewarding job environment.  

This job requires flexibility in a weekly work schedule.  Staff may be asked to change a schedule at short notice due to unplanned situations in the group home.  Staff may discuss scheduling needs with their supervisor and accommodations will be made if it is possible, but schedules or work hours are never guaranteed as part of a hiring process or on-going employment. 

Required qualifications:

• 21+ years or older
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 1+ year of experience in the personal care & services industry
• At least high school diploma or equivalent or higher
• Valid driver's license
