Job Description
Position: Scientist II
Scientists in this position will be directly involved in and responsible for development, optimization, and validation of rare reagents or assays for detecting and measuring proteins, chemicals, and/or DNA targets.
Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for key portions of New Product Development process including assay design, feasibility, development, validation, and transfer
- Responsible for key portions of Product Project Management including writing: the project plan, design inputs, risk management documents, development reports, SOPs, etc
- Identify potential problems and resolutions during feasibility while maintaining project milestones
- Design and perform rigorous method validations and conduct data analysis including write-up/submission support
- Independently review data, make the appropriate decisions, and takes action to drive projects to meet timelines
- Assist with trouble-shooting with on-market products
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality to transfer new product SOPs and specifications,
- Work on multiple projects, either individually or in small teams
- Work effectively cross-functionally and with our customers
- Document, handle, and maintain stewardship of regulated materials including seed
- Follow established safe work practices by following EnviroLogix safety policies and procedures, and by reporting any unsafe or hazardous condition to their supervisor or the Environmental, Health, and Safety department for corrective action

- Knowledge of Microsoft office especially excel
- Positive work ethic, ambitious, and passionate attitude
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in related scientific field and a minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, or Master's in related field with a minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Lateral Flow development experience
- Mycotoxin experience, preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office and laboratory environment
- Ability to work around chemicals, toxins, pathogens, etc. as required
- Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time
Reports To: Department Supervisor or Manager
