Patient Service Specialist

Primary job duties:
• Welcome patients and visitors and maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, financial and insurance information.
• Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
• Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining the reception area.
• Obtain revenue by recording and collections patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; and filing, collecting, and expediting third -party claims.
• Protect patient rights by insuring confidentiality of personal and financial information.
• Contribute to team effort with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures.
• Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
• Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis preferred.
• Working knowledge of healthcare insurance strongly preferred.

Salary
• $18 - $21 per hour based on years’ experience
