Proof of the Pudding is an award-winning catering company throughout the Southeast with a commitment to creating quality culinary concepts from scratch. Our company consists of 5 major pillars – Sports & Entertainment, Off-premise Catering, Gas South Region, Atlanta Metro Region, and Specialty Operations. The Human Resources department provides support to all pillars.

Proof of the Pudding is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to play a pivotal role on the HR team including oversight of wage garnishments, employee relations, executing worker’s compensation claims, and maintaining employee records. This is an in-office position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions from the HR email box.
  • Workers Compensation process, claim review and follow up.
  • Process all employment verification.
  • Verifies I-9 completion for all divisions, maintains I-9 files and training.
  • Assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Schedules meetings at the request of the VP of HR.
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
  • Files documents into appropriate employee files.
  • Prepares and manage upkeep of new-employee files.
  • Processes mail for Garnishment and Unemployment Claims – Setup in HRIS and responses
  • Entering data into payroll and administrative databases and Paycom.
  • Maintain all data in PAYCOM to ensure all information accurate and up to date.

Performs other related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Human Resources and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of related Human Resources experience is required.
    • Experience executing workers’ compensation claims, wage garnishments, and short term disability claims is strongly perferred.
    • SHRM-CP certified is strongly preferred.
  • Must be comfortable commuting to or relocating to Atlanta, GA

Work Environment

This position will consist of in-office work which entails computer usage, answering phones, attending virtual and in-person meetings, and moving throughout the office. This position’s duties may change based upon business needs and/or busy event schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Position Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range of $60,000-$65,000 per year
  • Typical schedule is 8am-5pm (M-F); position may require to work nights, weekends, and occasional holidays as business demands
