Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer

The EHS Engineer is a brand-new position where you will have the opportunity to spearhead the development of a plant specific EHS program that falls under your direction. You will serve as an important technical resource for environmental health and safety requirements and operations throughout the Buena Vista plant, leading EHS projects, implementing new processes, and modifying existing ones

 

Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

Location: BuenaVista, VA

Pay Range: $95,000 - $105,000

 

What’s the Job?

Max of 5

• Ensure compliance to all applicable governmental regulations and internal EH&S policies.
• Follow new regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on our organization, and institute programs to achieve compliance.
• Share accountability and responsibility with management to provide guidance in identifying opportunities to continuously improve performance and attain EH&S goals.
• Conduct Safety Assessments and Environmental Audits, support and ensure implementation of corrective and preventative measures addressing findings.
• Provide technical environmental expertise in combination with knowledge of manufacturing and business processes to minimize waste.

 

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor's Degree in manufacturing, engineering or a program related to Environmental Health and Safety.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working in EHS within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working experience and knowledge of OSHA and environmental standards.
• A background in lean manufacturing with an emphasis on Continuous Improvement.
• A strong understanding of environmental regulations and a focus on reduction in environmental impact.
