The Lead Installer is primarily responsible for applying electrical theory and related knowledge for installing and maintaining generators and related equipment. This role is critical in communication and efficient work performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Installs generator and related equipment including gas line used in a residential and light commercial setting, successfully without supervision. 

2.    Takes full responsibility for outcome of job in its entirety regardless of who is completing task. Carries out duties assigned by management.

3.    Shares expertise with fellow co workers for mutual benefit and growth, ensuring they perform installations in a professional and efficient manner. 

4.    Communicates in an effective, timely manner with management regarding issues, opportunities, or other factors that might affect the generator department. 

5.    Records all installation activity as required in an accurate, clear, and timely manner.

6.    Takes primary responsibility for work with all organizations to ensure on the job site that proper quantities of materials and supplies have been furnished to complete assigned projects in time allowed. 

7.    Follows all company policies, especially, but not limited to, those regarding:

  • Customer relations
  • Quality control
  • Business conduct in customer’s home
  • Appearance and hygiene
  • Driver safety
  • Fleet maintenance
  • Dispatch and communications
  • Collects payments from customers.

9.    Ensure the generator installation helper is following our stated policies and procedures, giving instruction and directions to your coworkers as required.

10.   Ensures company property, vehicles, and tools are being used, maintained, and accounted for properly and timely. 

11.   Completes all administrative tasks in a neat, accurate, complete, and timely manner.

12.   Assists in the preparation, maintenance, and formulation of department quality standards and guidelines. 

13.   Fail fewer than 5% of inspections. 

14.   Less than 5% recall rate on generator installations as it relates to circuits that need power not being moved to essential loads panels. 

15.   Maintain Ace Home Services level quality that are, but not limited to:

  • Neat installation with clean lines and connections.
  • Great communication with clients and contractor partnership like Lowes.
  • Gas piping that is neat, cleaned properly and painted properly = Do not show signs of rust for at least 3 years.
  • Neat writing and conduit work.

16.   Accountability: 

  • Cost control
  • Quality control
  • Work up to county/city inspector’s codes. 

17.    Complete special projects and perform other job duties as assigned.

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year certificate from college or technical school.
  • 3 – 6 months related experience and/or training.
  • VA Electrician Apprentice
  • Able to pass a drug screening and background check (random testing may occur) 
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license and a good driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Physical dexterity in limbs and digits to operate hand and power-driven tools and equipment commonly used in the field.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Ability to continually walk, stand, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, reach in all directions. 
  • Ability to maintain balance working off the ground using ladders, scaffolds, and/or mechanical lifts. 
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work in high, precarious places. 
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work outside; exposed to heat and cold. 
  • Ability to see and read with or without vision aids. 
  • Ability to hear and speak to exchange information.
  •  Ability to see to perform maintenance duties and read blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
