Transportation Design Manager

The Opportunity

Sambatek is currently seeking a Design Manager to work with a team to execute transportation engineering projects. As a design manager you are responsible for leading a design team in the implementation of transportation design, as well as developing and enforcing design best practices. This person will mentor and educate designers, and keep current on client and industry design trends, technology, standards, policy, and guidance. This is a tremendous opportunity for the right person to help continue the expansion of our Transportation team.

Work Location: Hybrid, in-office as needed for meetings and team interactions

Qualified candidate will:

• Lead highway design in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
• Produce Efficiently via expert-level project development skills and design knowledge
• Participate in quality review processes
• Develop expertise in emerging design and technology
• Mentor staff in design and refine/add to procedures and best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience
• PE license in Civil Engineering
• Expert in elements of highway design, with advanced design experience
• Proficient ability with Bentley MicroStation and GEOPAK (Expert ability preferred)
• Experience using Corridor Modeling or Open Roads Design preferred
• Strong self-motivation and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks on multiple projects keeping strong attention to detail
• Ability to mentor design staff via complex design and project development tasks
• Ability to manage design best practices to develop, update, instruct, and enforce

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment
• Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
