Growing plastics manufacturing company is currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our growing operations in Lawrenceville, GA. This is a full-time position with full company benefits. Applicants must be open to flexible schedule including some nights and occasional weekends and willingness to travel to Texas facility (approx. 5-10% travel required).
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all activities related to the maintenance and preventative care of the Company’s facilities and equipment used for manufacturing production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain equipment for manufacturing production.
· Responsible for all activities related to maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery including activities that optimize equipment efficiency and longevity.
· Assist Maintenance Manager in facility maintenance related tasks.
· Collaborate with Maintenance Manager to create and manage maintenance schedules and priorities to best meet company’s needs with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.
· Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning equipment in the manufacturing process.
· Perform cleanout procedures with operators and team leaders to teach them the mechanics of the equipment to prevent unnecessary damage due to improper handling.
· Apply knowledge of Maintenance methods and procedures to prevent equipment failure or to correct failures in a timely manner.
· Work closely with Production teams to minimize scrap quantities, increase machine efficiency and to work toward company measurable.
· Establish maintenance procedures (PM’s, corrective actions, process improvements etc.) in conjunction with KTD with emphasis on quality.
· Have a continuous improvement program for the PM program and equipment modification efforts.
· Recruit engineering assistance in problem solving regarding equipment design or modification.
· Perform inventory control while replenishing all necessary items for production usable goods, spare parts inventory, and first-aid and safety item.
· Perform GMP throughout the facility, with emphasis on general area of operation.
· Effectively participate with all assigned teams with the objective of improving overall operation.
· PLC Troubleshooting
· Comply with safety regulations.
· Also perform other related duties as they are assigned.
Requirements:
· 5 years of maintenance work experience.
· Prior experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Electrical experience required.
· HVAC experience a plus.
· Knowledge and experience with hydraulic equipment maintenance a plus.
· Basic computer skills with a working knowledge of MS Outlook.
· Proficient with PLC troubleshooting
· Excellent communication skills.
· Can work independently with little to no supervision.
· Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include some nights and occasional weekends and may require some travel to our Texas facility 5- 10% travel.
· The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
· Professional appearance and conduct.
