DN Tanks offers paid Co-Op and Internship opportunities year-round at our Grand Praire, TX operation center. We have enjoyed a successful partnership with Texas A&M University over the years. In fact, several DN Tanks full time employees got their introduction to our company through their Co-op or Internship experience.

We pride ourselves on spending quality time with Co-op students and Interns, teaching important leadership and professional development skills. Our programs offer great opportunities to gain hands-on technical and professional development experience, working side-by-side with industry experts and leaders throughout the organization.

Construction Co-op/Intern Student ---- Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
    • Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs. Assist Project Engineers with the preparation of detailed project submittals.
    • Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
    • Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
    • Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers prior to concrete placements.
    • Visit local construction sites during precast panel erection.

Estimating Co-op/Intern Student---- Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare earthwork takeoffs using Quest and sitework cost estimates using Excel.
    • Solicit bid level pricing for cranes, rebar installation, fence work, and various other subcontractor scopes of work.
    • Prepare Requests for Quotation after local subcontractors have been identified.
    • Interface directly with Sales, Engineering, Construction, and Procurement Departments on a regular basis to assist with developing and bidding construction projects.
    • Visit local construction sites to observe construction process and the impact of bid and layout work.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications for All Co-op/Intern Positions

    • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program. A concentration in Civil Engineering is preferred.
    • Experience working with CAD software (preferably AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
    • Good communication and time management skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
    • The ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.
