Tier II Managed Services Engineer for IT MSP (Hybrid Work Model)
Join our expanding team as a Tier II Managed Services Engineer at our medium-sized IT Managed Services Provider. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model, enabling you to work both from home and in the office. We serve small to medium-sized businesses across various industries, offering you the chance to engage with a wide range of technologies. Responsibilities as a Tier II Managed Services Engineer:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues across servers, printers, and workstations.
- Administer end-user accounts, permissions, and storage allocations, in compliance with best practices for privacy, security, and regulatory standards.
- Offer technical support for Microsoft server technologies including, but not limited to, Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, Hyper-V, and Microsoft Cloud services.
- Implement and manage firewalls, managed switches, and other networking hardware.
- Deploy and administer VMWare and Hyper-V environments.
- Assist clients in technology strategy, IT project management, reporting, and compliance.
- Monitor network performance and implement optimizations and quality of service.
- Develop and maintain documentation including configurations, processes, and service records.
- Collaborate with the service desk team to escalate and resolve high-level issues.
- Conduct proactive maintenance and updates during scheduled downtime.
Additional Requirements for Tier II Managed Services Engineer:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working for a Managed Service Provider is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft technologies such as Azure and Office 365 administration.
- Comfortable managing server technologies and networked computing environments.
- Intermediate to advanced expertise in Microsoft Windows Server-related applications, services, and technologies (e.g., AD, DHCP, DNS, Office 365, Azure AD).
- Familiarity with Linux server environments is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across different levels of a network topology.
- Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) for task automation are desirable.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors for problem resolution and hardware/software purchases.
