Bridge Carpenter to join our crews working around the state.

Job Duties:

• Accurately measures and marks lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
• Verifies trueness of structure using plumb bob and levels
• Shapes and cuts materials to specified measurements using a variety of tools.
• Understand blueprints and sketches to determine dimensions and materials needed to build forms, templates and other structures.
• Responsible for and take care of company’s tools and equipment.
• May direct and instruct other carpenters or carpenter helpers
• Assists with cement pours and finishing
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
• Gives full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate.
• Communicates any issues relating to safety or production up the chain of command. Reports any problems to the foreperson or supervisor. Asks questions if needing understanding.
• Performing other duties on the jobsite when equipment is not in operation, as to add to efficiency of our overall operation
• Following all safety policies and PPE use

Safety Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in high heat
• Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to walk and stand on uneven surfaces for long periods of time
• Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and small equipment
• Ability to stoop, bend and climb as needed
• Ability work at heights exceeding 6 ft from the ground
• Ability to read, see and understand signs, signals, commands, instruction and safety policies
• Ability to train and teach proper safety techniques and PPE use

Experience/Skills Required:

• Must have minimum of 5 yrs. experience as a forming or bridge carpenter.
• Experience with cement pouring and finishing is preferred.
• Clear driving record and valid driver’s license needed to operate assigned company truck
