Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for a Clinic Assistant (Service Coordinator I) to work in our Shawnee Clinic. This position will provide administrative support to our health clinic staff. First review of applications will be on December 7, 2023.

Job Description

Additional Duties includes:

    Interviews individuals and compiles information regarding background and applicable circumstances to identify needs and/or determine service eligibility; interprets and communicates relevant information to individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Develops plans to address the needs of individuals in a single area of focus; networks with other community agencies to research and recommend resources and options to address individual needs; consults and collaborates with other providers in the development and review of plans.
  • Provides a variety of services for a designated case load of individuals with routine, brief, and/or less complex needs; ensures services provided are consistent with individual plans; initiates and attends individual and/ or group meetings; provides transportation of individuals according to the needs identified in plans.
  • Completes and submits documentation regarding services provided; evaluates and documents individuals' progress according to measurable goals.
  • Assists with the ordering and maintaining of inventories of stock supporting day-to-day outpatient department clinical and administrative operations; assists qualified nursing staff in general care of outpatients in preparation for tests, collecting urine, blood samples, specimens as requested with agreed protocols; maintains the cleanliness and serviceability of outpatient department facilities and equipment, arranges for maintenance and repair as needed per clinic facility; assists registered nurse in welcoming and orientating patients to the outpatient department.
  • Ensures duties are carried out safely and to the highest possible standard under the supervision of the qualified nursing staff, and in accordance with current initiatives within the work area; establishes and maintains effective communication and relationships with multi-disciplinary team; contributes to the development of clinical area through contribution of new ideas to improve patient care/experience.
Job Requirements

Associate's degree in Human Services or relevant field and one year of relevant experirence are required.

Education can substitute for experience and experience can substitute for education.
