EisnerAmper's Outsourced Services - Real Estate group has experienced significant growth and is seeking a real estate accounting professional with expertise using Real Estate platforms such as Yardi, AppFolio and Intacct. This individual will report to the Manager of Real Estate Accounting and will be responsible for servicing real estate clients and managing multi entity portfolios of properties, both commercial and/or residential. You will be responsible for managing a team of accountants who perform back-office accounting functions for clients.

What Work You Will be Responsible For:
  • Make appropriate journal entries to record mortgage, payroll, utilities, management fees, property insurance and property taxes and other cash transactions

  • Perform bank reconciliations (operating, security deposit, escrow accounts)

  • Perform monthly financial review, accrual accounting and GL reclasses

  • Perform reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts

  • Perform in-depth review of the income statement

  • Perform actual-to-budget variance analysis

  • Perform management fee calculations and processing

  • Perform Distribution calculations and processing

  • Prepare monthly financial statement package for ownership to include balance sheet, profit & loss statement, statement of cash flows (if applicable), and bank reconciliations

  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting to fulfill lender compliance requirements

  • Maintain related schedules (property insurance and taxes, compliance, etc.)

  • Act as liaison to external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions, provide research data and information as requested, and answer questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner.

  • Submit wires, ACHs, and internal bank transfers

  • Maintain task management and workpapers in Blackline

  • Development and uploads of budgets

  • Maintain job costing schedules and prepare construction draw packages

  • Have technical knowledge of lease accounting

  • Maintain CAM and operation escalation schedules

  • Maintain task management and workpapers in Blackline

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • 1+ years' experience in real estate managing multiple properties entities or 1+ years' in public accounting focused on real estate clients

  • Knowledge of Sage Intacct, and/or Yardi

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • Experience working with task management and workpaper system (Blackline, Floqast)

  • Experience working with Appfolio and/or Avid Exchange
