Title: Sr. Support Specialist
Reports To: Program Manager
Location: Annenberg Access Center 503 Olympic Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90401
Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly), Full-Time, Non-Management
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, Saturday 7am-3:30pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Sr. Support Specialist is responsible for:

1. Provide accurate information on Shower, Locker, and laundry services and policies/procedures.
2. Perform locker intakes, discharges and exits.
3. Complete inventory for ShWashLock supplies and ensure supplies are well stocked.
4. Submit a service request to CSC Vendor when washer/Dryers are not operational.
5. Report all maintenance issues to the supervisor
6. Administer monthly ShWashLock surveys and input data.
7. Maintain logs for power washing and CSC vendor for washers & dryers
8. Maintain accurate client records and statistical data (manually and via computerized database system)
9. Triage and connect clients to Access Center services and internal/external resources.
10. Responsible for daily phone charging services
11. Enter daily lunch data during AM meal distribution
12. Facilitate new client orientation to participants
13. Assist with ShWashLock monitor duties
14. Assist with clothing closet organization, and upkeep
15. Assist staff in maintaining order and a smooth flow of services throughout the day
16. Assist with administrative tasks as needed by the Program Manager
17. Assist with Donation Coordination, organization, transport and storage of donation items
18. Develop effective, trusting relationships, with clients using a client-centered approach using best practices that include motivational interviewing, harm reduction, trauma-informed-care and Housing First.
19. Provide Crisis intervention using Non-violent Crisis Intervention techniques
20. Participate in all case file, staff meetings, supervision, team meetings, training, and retreats
21. Participate in on-going self-evaluation, and development/modification
22. Communicate effectively and promptly with management team, peers, collaborators and clients
23. Participate in on-going self-evaluation, program evaluation, and development/modification
24. Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. AA degree in a related field with experience is preferred or equivalent experience (3 or more years of experience in a related field.)
2. Minimum of two years in customer service
3. Ability to handle difficult situations and communicate effectively
4. Current, valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle
5. Comfortable, able and willing to drive/transport program participants in agency van.
6. Demonstrated Knowledge of issues faced by population served.
7. Knowledge of social services agencies, community & housing resources
8. Ability to self-motivate, learn quickly, work effectively with a wide range of constituencies and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
9. Able to work in a high tolerance Harm Reduction model with members who have multiple barriers
10. Commitment to improving the community through empowerment and dignity.
11. Computer literate; able to use computerized database system for program participant file management and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
12. Bilingual preferred, but not required
13. Able to provide cleared TB test & pass a criminal background check.
Work Environment
1. Combination of field and office environment
2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend; occasionally lift or carry up to 35 lbs.
3. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites
4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments
5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor
6. May need to bend, stoop, twist and sit throughout the day
