Job Description

Job Purpose:

A Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs include minor plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling and other building systems. An ideal candidate will be versed in many aspects of hospital maintenance and repairs, with knowledge of maintenance procedures, and use of basic hand and power tools. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

 

Experience:

  • Five (5) years’ experience required.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Responds to emergency calls and makes appropriate repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment and maintains appropriate documentation per department procedure.
  • Orders parts and repairs equipment as needed, reports serious issues to Department Manager.
  • Ensures the inspection and electrical safety tests of equipment are maintained according to code requirements.
  • Ensures patient service areas are electrically safe and operational.
  • Maintains current regulatory knowledge of all mandating bodies.
  • Participates in inventory control and relating budget variances.
  • Participates in hospital wide information session.

 

Licensure, Certifications, and/or Registrations

  • Electrical Contractors License preferred.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
