The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital, stocking inventory, checking in patients, accurate and detailed notetaking, meticulously updating patient records, restraining patients, and potentially learning how to become a veterinary technician. This position is physically demanding (i.e., heavy lifting, ascending/descending stairs multiple times, and standing most of the day.) Successful candidates are positive, resilient, respectful, hardworking team players who pay great attention to detail.
The Veterinary Receptionist is responsible for making the first impression and assuring customers are receiving the attention and service they seek in a fast-paced environment with lots of moving pieces. Working in teams of 2-3 to assist with up to 5 lines and 2-3 clients in the lobby at any given time, the Veterinary Receptionist should be disciplined to take notes to revert to when pulled away, not be timid, and respond quickly when asked for help. The overall success of our front desk is attributed to mutual respect, strong work ethic, and effective communication amongst colleagues and customers.
Successful candidates are customer service-oriented, have attention to detail to accurately update patient records, flexible with scheduling and duties, maintain resiliency and are able to deal with conflict professionally, a team player and responds well to constructive criticism and orders, and uses emotional intelligence to effectively navigate through difficult conversations.
Candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to work at least 4-5 days per week between Monday - Saturday.
Wages will be commensurate with experience and negotiable after completing a 90-day evaluation period.
