Elementary School Tutor - Math and Reading

Job Description:

Are you passionate about education and committed to helping elementary school-aged children succeed in math and reading? We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced In-Home Tutor to join our team in Elk Grove, CA (95757). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, with expertise in both math and reading, and be available for tutoring sessions between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM during the week.

Responsibilities:

Develop Customized Lesson Plans: Assess the learning needs of each student and create tailored lesson plans to address their individual strengths and weaknesses in math and reading.

Engage and Motivate: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to encourage active participation, curiosity, and a love for learning.

Provide One-on-One Instruction: Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to reinforce fundamental concepts, build academic skills, and improve overall comprehension.

Monitor Progress: Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed to ensure continuous improvement.

Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Keep parents/guardians informed about their child's progress and provide feedback on areas for improvement.

Utilize Various Teaching Resources: Incorporate a variety of teaching materials, resources, and methods to make learning engaging and effective.

Stay Informed on Educational Trends: Stay current on developments in elementary education, curriculum standards, and teaching methodologies.

Qualifications:

Education Background: Bachelor's degree in Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.

Experience: Previous experience in tutoring or teaching elementary school students, with a focus on math and reading.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues.

Patience and Empathy: Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to working with children, recognizing and addressing individual learning styles.

Reliability: Dependable and punctual, with a commitment to maintaining a consistent tutoring schedule.

Local Candidates: Must be in or near Elk Grove, CA (95757) and available for in-home tutoring sessions during the specified hours.
