** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced Major Equipment Procurement Engineer to fill a one-year contract assignment in the Baxley, GA area.  This is a temporary position estimated to last 1 year.

Per diem is available if you qualify.

US Citizenship required.

This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Requirements:

A Major Equipment Procurement Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful procurement, installation, and optimization of major equipment in thermal processes. Their expertise in engineering and procurement, along with their ability to manage budgets and adhere to safety and quality standards, contributes significantly to the efficiency and reliability of thermal processes in industries like power generation or industrial heating. This role combines engineering expertise with supply chain management to ensure that major equipment, such as boilers, turbines, or heat exchangers, are sourced, delivered, and integrated effectively to enhance thermal processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.

5-10 years of experience in engineering, procurement, and installation of major equipment in thermal processes.

Strong knowledge of thermal processes, equipment, and system design.

Experience in supply chain management, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.

Project management skills, including budget and schedule management.

Understanding of safety regulations and industry standards related to thermal processes. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Familiarity with project management software and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Procurement:

Lead the procurement process for major equipment, including vendor selection, negotiations, and contract management.

Technical Evaluation:

Assess equipment specifications, design, and compliance with project requirements, ensuring the selection of optimal equipment for thermal processes.

Budget Management:

Manage equipment procurement budgets, identifying cost-effective solutions and preventing cost overruns.

Quality Assurance:

Develop quality control processes and oversee the quality of equipment to meet industry standards and project requirements.

Supplier Coordination:

Collaborate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery, adherence to specifications, and resolution of any technical issues.

Installation Oversight:

Supervise the installation and integration of major equipment, coordinating with project teams, contractors, and technical experts.

Performance Optimization:

Monitor and fine-tune equipment to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability within thermal processes.

Safety Compliance:

Ensure that equipment installations comply with safety regulations and standards, emphasizing a strong safety culture.

Project Documentation:

Maintain comprehensive records of equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and performance for reporting and project analysis.

Technical Support:

Provide technical support to project teams, addressing equipment-related challenges and troubleshooting issues that may arise.
