Exciting opportunity to join the Avera St. Luke’s Laboratory as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)!  This position is located at our Clinic.  

** This position may be eligible for a $15,000 sign on bonus with a 3 year committment.

Job Summary

• Collect appropriate specimen for diagnostic testing.
• Process specimens for transport to reference laboratory for specialized testing with necessary paperwork and documentations.
• Operate and maintain a variety of automated analyzers according to standard operating procedure.
• Collect data, prepare reports, answer correspondence and compile statistics as directed by the laboratory supervisor.
• Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating work flow with other team members.

Education and/or Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Medical Laboratory Science.
• Completion of a clinical internship as part of degree program.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• National Certification: MLS (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire date.

Work Schedule

• Day/Evening shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks
  • Between the hours of  7:30 am - 8:00 pm - No Overnights! 
  • Shifts vary between 8 hours - 11 hours 
  • Every 3rd weekend and holiday  

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $27.50 - $41.50 per hour
