Certified Pharmacy Technician - Oklahoma City, OK (OKC)

As a forefront provider of pharmacy services on a national scale, we are actively seeking to add one Pharmacy Technician to our team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Pay: $20
Schedule: 8 hour day shifts, 10:00am – 6:00pm but flexibility is highly preferred
Duration: 3+ months with possible extension

Job Summary:

Assists with drug preparation and dispensing under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist and in accordance with state pharmacy regulations. Performs at least one higher level pharmacy technician responsibility in addition to filling prescriptions, such as Control Room, MTS (prepack machines), inventory control (purchasing), data entry, IVs, servicing facility-based medication dispensing machines).
Reports To: Lead Tech; Tech Supervisor; Pharmacy, Operations Manager, Pharmacy Director

Job Duties:

• Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
• Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
• Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding
• May reconcile and fill EDK (Emergency Drug Kit) boxes
• Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
• May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory
• May process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction
• Performs other tasks as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Applicant must be licensed with the Oklahoma board.
• High School diploma required.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a long-term care pharmacy is highly preferred.
• Ability to operate a computer
• Ability to recognize and identify medications
• As required by government regulations and business needs
• Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, oral communication
