Job Description: Camp Weber Office Manager

The Camp Weber Office Manager is responsible for providing basic office support to the Director of Camp programs. This includes, but is not limited to answering phones, typing correspondence, preparing mailings, filing, copying, mail distribution, performing data entry for all registrations into the Camp registration system, printing reports, and other duties as assigned by the Director.

Essential Functions:

This person will play an important part in the work that we do each day. In addition to all other duties as assigned, this role will:

• Adhere to policies and enforce, procedures and regulations of the YMCA of Greater Springfield.

• Adhere to, enforce, and act by all camp policies regarding safety.

• Adhere to, enforce, and act by the requirements of the local Department of Health and all other Massachusetts laws governing our summer camp programs.

• Work closely with the Camp Director and Associate Executive Director of School Age Education to create, support, and oversee camp programs that include, but are not limited to attendance, transportation, games, activities, swimming, and other typical day camp activities.

• The successful candidate should be available from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday.

• Occasional weekend and overnight shifts are required.

• Work with staff to ensure a safe environment for participants.

• Maintain high standards for all staff and programming.

• Must promote the best practices of customer service.

• Assist in developing new programs/promotions/special events and fundraising.

• Must professionally represent the YMCA and promote a cheerful environment during each work shift.

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Have a High School diploma or equivalent.

• Must have, or be willing to earn, and maintain CPR and First Aid certification(s).

• 4 years’ experience in programming and Camp; YMCA and YMCA experience.

• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

• Ability to make sound judgment calls in a fast-paced, participant-focused environment.

• Must be able to role-model positive behaviors

• Be able to work in a high-value, and potentially high-stress, environment.

• Proven experience in teaching, leadership, and direction in youth enrichment programs.

• A working knowledge of program design and implementation is necessary.

• An ability to work with a diverse population.

• Exhibit core YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

• Excellent relationship-building skills.

Certifications:
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

Candidate must demonstrate a thorough understanding of relationship building, the YMCA mission, and the ability to lead a team.
