Job Description

The Marketing Cloud Architect is a member of AccelerEd’s platform experts team taking a leading role with designing and implementing optimal, scalable solutions for its Higher Education clients. As a member of the architect team, this role will partner with other Solution and Technical Architects to understand the “big picture” within our clients’ Enterprise architecture. Leveraging their analytical and consultative experience, the Marketing Cloud Architect will provide strategic and technical advice enabling our clients to meet their marketing and engagement objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for architecting, designing, and building solutions using Salesforce Marketing Cloud and integrating with Salesforce CRM and other technical applications
  • Partner with the Salesforce CRM team and business stakeholders to review requirements, design, develop and support the Salesforce Marketing Cloud application while guiding the overall direction of the client’s Marketing Cloud instance to meet their communication objectives
  • Define and build solutions alongside our technology team, build/manage integration endpoints, evangelize technology solutions as appropriate and identify where these solutions can be most effectively leveraged in our client’s organization
  • Demonstrate a solid technical understanding of Salesforce Marketing Cloud standard methodologies and functionality including Email studio, Mobile Studio, Automation studio, Journey Builder, Personalization (formerly Interaction Studio), Ad Studio, Audience Builder, etc.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to communicate best practices to create, enhance, and develop effective Journeys
  • Coach team members in the execution of complex Journey development, SMS campaigns, mobile app notifications, data model development, etc.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to conduct peer review of new and/or version up of Journeys prior to launch
  • Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend strategies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Interpret and translate metrics into insightful analysis to drive change and campaign performance [LP1]

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer. We are not offering sponsorship now or in the future.
  • 6+ years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud/ExactTarget with a proven track record of consistently exceeding performance goals.
  • Experienced in Data Extensions, Package Manager, Template creation, reports, data views, Event Notification Service (ENS), Rest/Soap APIs available within SFMC
  • Proficient in AMPscript, SQL, and other relevant scripting languages
  • Experience using marketing enablement solutions (i.e. DeSelect)
  • Proficient in developing scalable front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, JQuery and Angular JS
  • Experience creating responsive emails
  • Experience with list segmentation and working with large data sets
  • Experience in performing email QA testing to validate email rendering and deliverability across different devices and applications, using tools such as Litmus and Return path
  • Must have created User-Initiated and Triggered Automations like Data Extract, Filter, Import and Transfer File, Refresh Group, Query, Wait Activity and Send Email using Automation Studio
  • Experience working on optimizing campaigns through A/B testing and multivariate testing
  • Worked extensively on Landing Pages and Microsites
  • Worked on email reporting and tracking, recommend improvements, enhancements and testing strategies for future programs
  • Deep understanding of Salesforce Core CRM data model and features within Sales, Service and Experience Cloud
  • Experience with Tableau, Salesforce Reporting and PowerBI
  • Familiarity with Marketing Cloud Intelligence Reports
  • Extensive understanding of email marketing best practices, inbox deliverability and CAN-SPAM laws
  • Google analytics experience required
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Experience in leading a team of over 3+ developers, having direct reports for mentoring and training on SFMC
  • Experience with Agile methodology and Scrum delivery framework
