The Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Athletic Site Coordinator!

This Athletic Site Coordinator is responsible for supporting baseball/softball field setup and operations. Coordinators must be able to work evenings and some holidays. The starting rate is $15.50 per hour, and all positions will receive an increase on July 1, 2024.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assists with pre-season field prep - placement of base plugs, cleaning storage, etc.
  • Unlock park/field gates when necessary
  • Assist with or complete full-field set-up, take down, and clean-up
  • Provide courteous service to patrons
  • Maintain knowledge of basic baseball/softball rules - refer to rule books as needed
  • First contact for umpire and field monitors on nights/weekends
  • Complete routine field inspections
  • Take inventory of supplies
  • Acting supervisor for part-time staff on nights/weekends

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 years of age or older
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Good driving record and valid driver's license
  • Available to work evening hours and some weekends
  • Softball/baseball experience preferred
  • Ability to pass background check and complete CPR/First Aid training
