About this job

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Create and maintain a total safety culture.

· Oversees all operational functions related to the safe and effective operation of the Safety, First Aid, Security, and Loss Prevention Departments.

· Conduct accident investigations to determine the root cause of guest and employee incidents.

· Handle all claims: reporting, investigating and maintaining files on potential claims, active claims, and lawsuits against the Park. Be the Park liaison with outside attorneys and insurance companies.

· Interpret, implement and update the Safety Compliance Manual, Emergency Response Manual, First Aid Standard Operating Procedures, First Aid Patient Care Protocols and support Corporate Safety and Health Standards.

· Supervise and be responsive to all activities relating to life and property protection from fire, including inspections of fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, valves and alarm systems. Perform periodic and regular property inspections (Rides, Grounds, Food Stands, etc.).

· Maintain all Material Safety Data Sheets on all chemicals for the property.

· Ensure governmental compliance, including full and accurate documentation and worker’s compensation reporting. Develop and conduct training to employees on park safety procedures and regulatory compliance.

· Meet and review Emergency Response Procedures with local, county, state and federal agencies on a periodic basis.

· Prepare and coordinate the health and safety audit, and the audit process. Monitor to be certain recommendations are being implemented within agreed timeframes.

· Perform other duties as assigned and appropriate to the area of responsibility and to meet the needs of the Park.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years management and/or senior supervisory experience in a theme Park.

· Minimum of 2 years of college education or comparable experience in a related field preferred.

· Strong teambuilding and mentoring skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively across divisions; confidence working with senior leadership.

· Possess strong planning, organization, leadership and administrative skills including budget creation and maintenance.

· Must be able to perform inspections, requiring climbing on high structures, ladders, and into confined spaces and have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

· Knowledge of state and federal programs and regulations.

· Flexible schedule required including nights, weekends, after hours, and holidays.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to solid problem solving and reasoning abilities.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

· Valid state Driver License

· Training experience - developing programs and facilitating large groups.

· EMT Certification (or successful completion of EMT training program within 12 months)
