Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.00/hr. depending on experience

Position Overview

The In s id e S a les Re pre sentative assists with new and existing customer sales and pro vides pro d uc t support to out s id e sa les re pre sentatives. This position pro vides quotes and pro d uc t dimension information, both in person and over the phone.

Essential Job Duties

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding pro d uc t selection, placement of orders, prices and quotations, complaints, and scheduling of deliveries and ins tallations.
  • Initiate telephone calls to customers to generate sales. Obtain orders from customers and sales representatives; enter work order, credit return, return authorization, pick ticket, and service request; file paperwork accordingly.
  • Coordinate purchase and delivery of special pro d uc t s. Obta ins information on pricing specifications, uses and availability.
  • Manage schedules for pro ject by coordinating with out s id e sa les, jobsites, and assigned customers.
  • Check on back orders and resolve any out s tanding issues; solve billing pro blems and compile data for closing.
  • Handles special orders and advanced pricing; assist with pricing and special price lists.
  • Develop and grow pro fessional relationships with customers.
  • Resolve jobsite issues and customer pro blems.
  • Comply with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and pre dictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by location management.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum education required - High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum experience required - 1 year in building material industry with basic knowledge of pro d uc t and application. 1+ years In s id e S a les experience pre ferred.
  • Special skills required - Ability to operate computer, calculator & cash register. Knowledge of building supplies, applications, related equipment, and/or cons tru ction industry. Good interpersonal and customer relations skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. Should be familiar with inventory and inventory control.
  • Must be able to walk through out yar d s, plants, and offices.
  • Physical demands include standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending or stooping, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
