Job Title: Parking Services Ambassador I, II, III (Parking Garage)

Department: Department of Parking and Downtown Vitality

Classification: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: Level I - $22.45- $25.26, Level II - $24.47 - $27.61, Level III - $29.08 - $32.72

Salary Range: Level- $22.45 - $33.68, Level II - $24.47 - $37.01, Level III - $29.08 - $43.62

Position Summary: This position is responsible providing customer service, support, maintenance, monitors situations and reacts appropriately to ensure a high level of public safety, respond to, and resolve garage parking complaints and performs all duties in a professional and courteous manner, consistent with the organization's values and mission statement.
Supervision Received: Position works under the general supervision of the Parking Operations Manager.

Essential Job Functions:
Booth Operations
* Establish hours for occupying the attendant boot during peak ingress and egress periods.
* Greets Aspen guests and patrons of the parking facility. Assists public in locating available parking spaces.
* Answers telephone inquiries regarding rates and information on facility operations. Collects fees, operates cash register, balances cash drawer, and maintains receipt revenue.
* Completes a daily deposit of revenues collected for the prior day's business.
* Assigns and monitors parking spaces for City vehicles that are parked in Obermeyer complex parking garage.
* Oversees the rental and payment collection for parking spaces that are rented to the public in the Benedict Commons affordable housing units for the City Housing Department.

Safety
* Monitors support systems of the garage operation such as elevator, emergency generator, alarm system, automated access control equipment, equipment monitoring cameras and digital video recorder, intercom /dialer communication system, electric vehicle charging stations, electrical distributor, light timer with battery back-up, interior and exterior lighting, dry valve fire suppression sprinkler system, carbon monoxide detection system, carbon monoxide exhaust fan system, sump pump system and react to emergency situations as necessary. Ensures that all access gates are in good working condition with proper safety warning labels attached.
* Ensures that all walkways, stairwells, driving ramps and parking stalls are free from trash, debris, and other hazards.
* Check all lighting throughout the parking facility, restrooms, and stairwells for proper operation.

Maintenance
* Maintains restrooms, ticket booth, entry and exit devices daily.
* Cleans the inside of the garage, stairwells, elevator, plaza level, and around the perimeter of the facility daily.
* Makes minor repairs or requests that repairs be made as appropriate.
* Replace faulty lighting as required.
* Responsible for and performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance duties. This includes winter and summer activities.
* Coordinate facility and supporting system repairs and maintenance with contractors/vendors.
* Snow shoveling and plowing.

Departmental Support
* Cross-trains with coworkers to provide support and coverage in a team environment. May serves as a team leader, team member or support for project teams according to level. May trains new employees as required.
* May assist Operations Manager with special projects.
* Builds a partnership with other city departments as needed. Builds a partnership and interacts with supervisors of other city departments as needed.
* Communicates any issues with the revenue control equipment, license plate recognition systems, software, or programming to the Operations Manager.
* Recommends improvements and procedure changes.
* Conducts research and evaluates alternatives related to parking garage operations.
* Compiles all Parking Garage data and submits a report to the Department Head and Operations Manager.

Coordination
* May represents the City of Aspen Parking Department during meetings.
* Works with the Environmental Health Department to monitor and maintain the electrical vehicle charging stations throughout the city.

Customer Service
* Acts as an ambassador for the city to assist motorists, tourists, and locals by answering questions, offering directions, providing outstanding customer service, and assisting as possible. Deals with upset customers. Helps new employees understand what Word Class Customer Service looks like.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education (All Levels): High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Work Experience:
Level I: One year of experience in customer service, public contact.
Level II: Two years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar environment
Level II: Three years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar environment
Technical Knowledge: Must be proficient in the following areas: Microsoft Outlook Email, and a basic understanding of computers and online computer-based technology applications, which includes accessing web-based platforms. Ability to be trained on specialized mobile and computer programs and associated technology.
Licenses & Certifications: Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of start date. Complete City provided training within required timeframes:
* Attend and participate in periodic and annual safety training courses, such as First Aid, AED, CPR, Active Shooter Training; Fire Extinguishers; Ladder Safety; Slips, Trips and Falls, etc.
* Obtain and maintain current CPR certification.
Additional Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.

NOTE: Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required abilities, knowledge, and skills as determined by the City of Aspen may be substituted for the requirements above.

Preferred Candidate: Has familiarity with the Aspen area.

NOTE: This position requires a physical examination and Criminal Background Check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination, a drug test, and Criminal Background Check.
