GROUNDSKEEPER
Gorman & Company is looking for a part time Groundskeeper to work approximately 20 hours per week. Grounds keeping is one of the most important jobs for maintaining community housing properties in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents. Gorman & Company is looking for an experienced part time groundskeeper who is committed to providing first class grounds keeping / landscape services as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
A day in the life of a Groundskeeper:
Gorman & Company is looking for a part time Groundskeeper to work approximately 20 hours per week. Grounds keeping is one of the most important jobs for maintaining community housing properties in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents. Gorman & Company is looking for an experienced part time groundskeeper who is committed to providing first class grounds keeping / landscape services as part of a collaborative maintenance team.
A day in the life of a Groundskeeper:
- Work with our maintenance team to perform grounds maintenance such as lawn services, maintaining shrubs and gardens, spraying insecticides and clean-up.
- Outdoor building maintenance - painting, light bulbs, install and/or maintain fences.
- Assist outside contractors and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Assist in supplies inventory control and upkeep of all ground's equipment.
- Complete corrective maintenance by completing service requests.
- Assist with unit preparation to include painting, cleaning, repairing and/or replacing appliances, plumbing, and/or electrical fixtures.
- Emergency maintenance/On-Call when needed.
What do I need to qualify to be a Groundskeeper?
- Previous grounds keeping / landscaping / maintenance experience required.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to operate lawn equipment.
- Must be able to read work orders / service requests.
- Good safety habits.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
